Why Use Soy?
Soy candles do not release harmful carcinogens, and produce significantly less black soot into the air. Soy candles burn substantially longer and more uniformly, they are water soluble for easy clean up, and they are biodegradable resulting in reduced landfill waste. Soy candles contribute to the reduction of our dependency on crude oil, and by using them instead of paraffin candles you promote the care of our environment.
What are most candles made of?
The majority of all candles are made with paraffin wax, a petroleum based by-product of refined gasoline. Studies have shown that carcinogens released by paraffin wax candles are as dangerous as second-hand cigarette smoke. They can cause harm to the heart, lungs, circulatory system, and nervous system. This is not only a health concern, but also an environmental concern. The carcinogens released by burning paraffin wax candles are similar to those of gasoline being burned by an automobile.
Why does my candle have white discoloration?
This is a natural thing that happens with soy wax. The wax sometimes develops "snowflake" patterns depending on the environment and temprature. If you see this it just means that you have a genuine soy candle!
